We encourage you to reach out early rather than waiting until Veteran’s Day so as not to miss out!
You can reserve an appointment for yourself or call on behalf of a Veteran in your family. Spouses and adult children are welcome to help a loved one arrange their visit. .
Please bring a valid military ID or DD-214 to your appointment so we can confirm eligibility. If you’re unsure about the documents, ask our team when you call.
Why We Give Back
For Dr. Kristen Ritzau, founder of Shoreline Dental Studio, giving back to San Clemente is part of her family’s history.
Her grandparents moved to the area in the 1950s as a young Marine family. Her grandmother became known for looking after the community. When local Marines had nowhere to go for Thanksgiving, she invited them home for dinner. If a neighbor needed help, she was there.
That example shaped how Dr. Ritzau treats her own community. When she founded Shoreline Dental Studio, she wanted every person who walked through the door to experience those same values.
Smiles for FREEdom is part of that tradition. It’s a day when our team can put its skills to work for people who have given so much.
The 2026 dedication: This year’s Smiles for FREEdom honors Dr. Ritzau’s grandmother, who recently passed away. Her kindness lives on through those she inspired and the care we share with our community.
Eight Years of Smiles for FREEdom
2026 marks the 8th annual Smiles for FREEdom event at Shoreline Dental Studio.
What began as a commitment to supporting local Veterans has become a meaningful part of our community outreach. Every November, around Veterans Day, our team sets aside a day to provide free dental care to Veterans and their spouses.
Last year alone, our dentists, staff, and volunteers provided more than $50,000 in free dental care.
This year, we hope to reach even more Veterans throughout San Clemente and Orange County.
We’re grateful to everyone who helps make the event possible, from the people working in our treatment rooms to the neighbors who share the news.
Help Us Reach More Veterans
Some Veterans who could benefit most from this event may never hear about it unless someone in their community tells them.
If you manage a senior living community, work with a veteran organization, or help organize local gatherings, we’d love your help spreading the word.
You can post our Smiles for FREEdom flyer on a community board, include it in a resident newsletter, or mention the event at your next gathering.
If several residents are interested, our team can coordinate appointments to make scheduling easier.
We can also drop off printed flyers at your front desk or in a community space.
Please share the event with Veterans and military families in your network. A little local support can make a real difference.
