Dr. Kristen Ritzau was born and raised in San Clemente and is an alumnus of San Clemente High School. Born Kristen Moore, she is a third generation San Clemente local whose family moved here in the early 1950’s. She loves the San Clemente community and, as many will agree, believes it is the best place to live and work!
Dr. Kristen Ritzau obtained her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from the UCLA School of Dentistry, earning Summa Cum Laude honors and the Alpha Omega International Award as the top ranked graduate in her class. She was also elected by school faculty into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honors Society. While at UCLA, Kristen earned honors of excellence in the areas of Restorative Dentistry, Operative Dentistry, and Advanced Removable and Fixed Prosthodontics. She also served as the President of the RV Tucker Cast Gold Study Clubs and won awards the Academy of General Dentistry, the Academy of Orofacial Pain, and the American Academy of Periodontology.
Dr. Ritzau puts an emphasis on her relationship with her patients and she will take the time to get to know you beyond your smile. She also believes continued education is important to providing the best dental care. While in private practice, Kristen has continued her training in several areas including Invisalign, Conscious Sedation Dentistry, Laser Dentistry and many other of the latest dental technological advances. Dr Ritzau’s advances have been recognized in the dental field, being named as one of the Top 40 Under 40 Dentists by Incisal Edge Magazine in 2015, an honor given to America’s Best Young Dentists.
Kristen has also spent time using her skills on dental missions trips in Honduras, Guatemala and Mexico. She was also recognized by UCLA, being awarded the Wyatt Hume Scholarship for her community service in the local area.
In her free time, you may run into Kristen with her husband Cory and daughter Hayley spending time at the beach, running on the beach trail, serving at their church, or enjoying time in our beautiful San Clemente community.
